A 52-year-old Fullerton man was pronounced dead after apparently suffering a heart attack Friday and swerving his car into a telephone pole on Imperial Highway, police said.
The motorist, whose identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at 8:13 a.m. at St. Jude’s Hospital, Lt. Terry Rammell said.
According to witnesses and evidence, the victim appeared to slump over the steering wheel while traveling east at about 40 m.p.h., until the car came to rest near Lakeview Drive, Rammell said.
An autopsy was being performed Friday to determine the cause of death, he said.
