Notre Dame Athletic Director Gene Corrigan has agreed to become commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Atlanta Journal reported; however, Corrigan refused to confirm the report.

The newspaper quoted its source as saying Corrigan, 59, had long wanted to return to the ACC area because of his desire to be closer to his grandchildren in Virginia.
