What’s the big deal about not having enough people to pick fruit and vegetables?
When I was a kid, living in a small town in Illinois, I could hardly wait for summer. It was in the summer that we got to go to a nearby farm and detassel corn.
The wonderful experience included being on a farm and to make some money. This is the kind of experience that many children of the city might enjoy.
There are many organizations in Los Angeles who could get together with growers and set a plan in motion that would be of benefit to everyone.
If the right people with the right attitude worked together, why wouldn’t it work?
