LAS VEGAS — A Los Angeles man who came to Las Vegas to celebrate his birthday got more than he bargained for before dawn today, hitting a million-dollar jackpot at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino.
Yoshiaki Tomura, 37, a native of Japan who was born on the Fourth of July, had come to Las Vegas for a weekend birthday celebration. Tomura, who recently moved to Los Angeles from Japan, said he had invested about $500 in the slot machine when he hit the giant jackpot.
