MT. RAINIER NATIONAL PARK, Wash. — The body of the third mountain climber to die this year on Mt. Rainier was brought off the peak Sunday, a day after he was killed in the collapse of a snow bridge.
Park spokesman Cy Hentges said Kurt Fingler, 34, of Sumner, Wash., was killed just before dawn Saturday when the snow bridge collapsed at the 12,500-foot level, sending him and his daughter, Kristan, 14, into a hidden crevasse. Kristan suffered minor injuries.
