Preliminary data from a national study found that slim and active men and women are half as likely to die of cancer as those who are obese and sedentary, but extremely thin people are not as safe as previously believed. An American Cancer Society study shows the cancer mortality rate of men and women who are 40% or more overweight is 2.25 times greater than for those of average weight.
