Tekelec Expects Quarterly Loss Due to $630,000 in Write-Offs
Tekelec said it expects to report a loss in the second quarter ending June 30 because of $630,000 in write-offs against earnings.
The Calabasas company said $380,000 of the write-off will be for deferred product development and inventory costs for its manufacturing automation protocol test equipment. The company said the market is developing slowly for that equipment, which tests the communications between robots and computers in factories.
The other $250,000 in write-offs is for license fees and costs related to its computer network products.
