Redevelopment Project Starts
Ground has been broken for Ontario’s first redevelopment project--the $15-million, 11-acre Ontario Village shopping center at the northeast corner of Holt Boulevard and San Antonio Avenue.
The project is a development of the Los Angeles-based Riley/Pearlman Co. and is an important milestone for the downtown redevelopment program, according to Ontario Mayor Howard J. Snider, who attended the ground-breaking ceremony.
Scheduled for completion next spring, Ontario Village will include more than 100,000 square feet of retail stores and 60 apartments. Major tenants will include Stater Bros. Markets, Payless Drugs and El Pollo Loco restaurant.
