Three men armed with guns and wearing suits walked into a small supermarket, tied up three workers and stole $20,000 in cash and checks, police said Saturday.
Phangky Khuu, who works at the Penny Market at 9090 Bolsa Ave., said the robbers got about $10,000 in cash. The market, which specializes in Asian foods, keeps extra money to cash customers’ checks, Khuu said.
The robbers apparently fled on foot after the 9:25 a.m. theft Friday, police officer P.V. Upstill said. The men, all Vietnamese, were “last seen walking through the parking lot,” he said.
