Ron Brown of the Rams defeated Phillip Epps of Green Bay to win the NFL’s Fastest Man competition at Palm Desert.

Brown, who defeated Herschel Walker of Dallas in the semfinals, covered the 60 yards in 6.09 seconds and won $20,000. Epps ran 6.18 and earned $15,000.

Defending champion Darrell Green of Washington did not compete.
