A Hell’s Angel, charged with killing his girlfriend and her son so that they would not “snitch” about his drug dealings, was convicted of first-degree murder. A Kern County Superior Court jury also found a special circumstance that Robert Garceau, 40, committed multiple murders. That enables the panel to consider recommending the death sentence at the penalty phase next week. Prosecutors argued that Garceau stabbed and slashed the throats of Bakersfield residents Maureen Farrell Bautista, 38, and Telesforo Bautista III, 13, in September, 1984, to keep them from describing his drug activities to police or his boss, described as a Southern California narcotics kingpin.
