Constitution’s Bicentennial
Your spread on the Constitution was appalling.
Granted the imperfections and imperfectibility of mankind and all its works, there remain idealism and nobility in the aims of our Founders and those who have followed them.
Against the backdrop of history, on the scale of human attainment, the Constitution and this nation measure phenomenally well, and have been often and widely acclaimed by experts over the years.
How pitiful that your writers, Vidal and Litwack, see none of the good, but can only scorn and belittle, whine and degrade! And how sad that you print their denigrations with no balancing assessments of the progress and advancement involved, however flawed and limited you consider it to be!
A pox on all of you.
