Local News in Brief : Murder Suspect Held in Pacoima Shooting

A20-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with the shooting death of a Pacoima man in an attack that detectives suspect was related to drugs, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Police found the body of Howard Baker, 23, lying in a driveway in the 13100 block of Del Sur Street in Pacoima about 12:30 a.m. Friday, Lt. Bernard D. Conine said. Baker had been shot several times in the upper body.
Based on several witnesses’ descriptions, police arrested Sean Slade, 20, also of Pacoima, on suspicion of murder. Slade is being held at the Los Angeles Police Department Foothill Division Jail in lieu of bail, Conine said. He is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday.
“We believe the shooting occurred in a disagreement over narcotics,” Conine said.
