Murray, Six Others to Be Honored Tonight

Times columnists Jim Murray and Jack Smith will be among seven honored at a “Legend of News� ceremony tonight at the Greater Los Angeles Press Club’s 40th anniversary dinner at the Century Plaza hotel.

Other honorees are Herald-Examiner sports columnist Mel Durslag, television reporters Stan Chambers and Ruth Ashton Taylor, former radio personality Johnny Grant, and Gladwin Hill, retired New York Times writer. Al Davis, managing general partner of the Raiders, will introduce Murray.
