Orange County Area Roundup : Olympians Will Compete in UCI Track : Wysocki and Babers in Field for TAC Championships Tuneup

Several top American track and field athletes, including former Olympian Ruth Wysocki and 1984 Olympic gold medalist Alonzo Babers, will compete in an Olympic Development all-comers meet Sunday at UC Irvine.
The meet, sponsored by The Athletics Congress, is a tuneup competition for the TAC Championships, June 22-27 in San Jose.
Those expected to compete include American record-holder John Brenner in the shotput, Andre Phillips in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles, Babers in the 400 meters, Wysocki in the women’s 1,500 meters, Bill Green in the hammer throw, Toni Campbell in the 100-meter high hurdles, Mike Tulley in the pole vault, Tom Petranoff in the men’s javelin and UC Irvine middle distance runner Buffy Rabbitt in the women’s 800 meters.
The competition begins with the pole vault at 2 p.m.
