A 19-year-old man was arrested and booked on suspicion of burglary after police responded to a report of vandals inside the Breed Street Synagogue in Boyle Heights. Hollenbeck Division Lt. Jim Duke said two other young men fled and are being sought. Duke said a fire extinguisher was sprayed on the walls, causing minor damage. He said officers found some graffiti, but there were no anti-Jewish slogans. The suspect in custody was identified as Luis Arellano.
