Fawn Hall’s appearance on Cable News Network’s gavel-to-gavel coverage of the congressional Iran- contra hearings in Washington boosted the daytime ratings of CNN by 200%, the network reports. Hall’s appearance Monday brought a 3.4 rating on the Nielsen charts (one Nielsen point equals 874,000 homes). Tuesday, her appearance garnered a 2.4 rating. Normally, the hearings have generated an average 1.6 rating.
