The Venice Action Committee has purchased two bicycles for the Los Angeles Police Department’s Beach Patrol, to encourage better law enforcement.
The community group will hold a rally at 1401 Ocean Front Walk at 5 p.m. Tuesday, on the theme, “Take Back the Beach.” Committee President Harlan Lee said that the organization will encourage residents to fight crime, drug abuse and panhandling along the beach, which is flooded with visitors during the summer.
