Court Bars Teacher Drug Tests

ALBANY, N.Y. — The state’s highest court ruled today in a landmark decision that a Long Island school district violated the constitutional rights of teachers by ordering them to submit to drug tests.
The decision is believed to be the first appeals decision against drug testing made by any top state court in the country. The U.S. Supreme Court has also refrained from any major drug testing rulings.
