Huntington Beach : Vietnamese Buddhists to Mark Anniversary
More than 500 people from the Hoa-Hao Buddhist Church of America are expected to attend ceremonies marking the 48th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese religion at 10 a.m. Sunday at Edison Community Center, 21377 Magnolia Blvd.
Hoa-Hao Buddhism is one of the four largest religions in Vietnam with about 2 million followers. It began in 1939, in the village of Hoa-Hao in South Vietnam. Since then, it has become known as the Hoa-Hao, Vietnamese for humanity and harmony.
