Horner’s 3 RBIs Lead Swallows to 7-4 Win

TOKYO — Bob Horner, formerly with the Atlanta Braves, drove in three runs, leading the Yakult Swallows to a 7-4 Japanese baseball victory over the Yokohama Taiyo Whales.
Horner had two doubles and two walks in five trips to the plate. He has a .340 average.
Ex-major leaguer Matt Keough (4-1) gave up only six hits and Randy Bass, formerly with the Texas Rangers, hit his 12th home run of the season as the Hanshin Tigers blanked the Yomiuri Giants, 5-0.
The Nippon Ham Fighters edged the Nankai Hawks, 8-7, as Tony Brewer, a former Dodger farmhand, hit a tie-breaking home run, his 14th of the season, in the eighth inning.
