Santa Monica’s Planning Chief Resigns
Santa Monica planning director Ann Siracusa has resigned and will take a similar post with the city of San Bernardino.
Siracusa, 46, who took over as Santa Monica planning director in January, 1986, has presided over a detailed revision of the city’s zoning ordinance, which will go before the council later this year.
“I think that Ann has seen us through the commitment she made to see the zoning ordinance through the Planning Commission,†said City Manager John Jalili. “It was a very, very tedious task that required many nights and weekends and is a significant accomplishment. I wish her well.â€
Peggy Curran, director of Santa Monica’s Department of Community and Economic Development, will serve as acting planning director, Jalili said.
