Sedderly-Mitton Face Kaplan-Kronemann

Mike Sedderly and Bernard Mitton will face Mark Kaplan and Trevor Kronemann in the final of the men’s doubles championships of the Adoption Guild tennis tournament today at 1:30 p.m. at the Newport Beach Tennis Club.

Sedderly and Mitton advanced to the final with a 6-4, 6-3 victory Saturday over Chris Dunk and Tim Paswat. Kaplan and Kronemann defeated Robert Van’t Hof and Larry Stefanki, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.

Tim Downey and Tom Olmstead, who defeated Matt Richardson and Bob Robles, 6-3, 7-5, will play for the men’s open title at 10:30 a.m. against Dick Gude and Alan Godfrey, who beat Grant Hein and Mike Brown, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

In the women’s open bracket, Betty Ann Dent and Linda Mallory, who beat Libby Despot and Stephanie Rhorer, 6-2, 6-4, will face Barbara Lemberg and Noelle Porter, who defeated Barbara Degroot and Gretchan Miller, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.

Debbie Goldburger and Scott Brownsburger, who beat Susie Warfield-Paige and John Walker, 6-2, 6-4, will play for the mixed open title against Porter and Van’t Hof, who defeated Lemberg and Dave Sherbeck, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6.
