8 Women Doctoral Candidates Honored
The UCLA Assn. of Academic Women has presented Graduate Woman of the Year awards to eight students who will receive their doctoral degrees in June.
The winners, who each will receive a certificate and $200, are Denise G. Fairchild, urban studies; Sally Anne McInerny, engineering; Constance Paula Coiner, American studies; Karen Denise Emmorey, linguistics; Vicki Lynn Hansen, earth and space sciences; Inge Jechart, physics; Teresa R. Strecker, biology, and Carla Gardina Pestana, history.
