Officials of Lear Siegler’s Piper Aircraft subsidiary said Piper had been bought by Millar, 63, a former aerospace executive and owner of two companies that manufacture compressors, laboratory test equipment, and microfilm and microfiche supplies and equipment. The disclosure followed a terse announcement Tuesday that Piper, a 50-year-old general aviation manufacturer based in Vero Beach, Fla., had been purchased for an undisclosed amount by a Newport Beach holding company called Romeo Charlie, whose owner wanted to keep his identity secret during the sale. Piper officials did not say why they now are able to identify Millar.
