Mike Wilson pitched a no-hitter Wednesday as La Quinta High School defeated Santiago, 6-0, in a Garden Grove League baseball game at La Quinta.

Wilson, a junior right-hander, missed a perfect game because of a second-inning error, when a ground ball hit by Willie Hernandez was mishandled by second baseman Tim Park. Hernandez was thrown out stealing as Wilson (11-1) faced the minimum 21 hitters.

Wilson, who had four strikeouts Wednesday, has 53 strikeouts and 10 walks in 61 innings this season.
