PTL Head Gets Word: No Salary
FORT MILL, S.C. — PTL President Richard Dortch said today that God has indicated to him that he should accept no salary from the television ministry for the next 12 months.
Dortch, who reportedly received $350,000 last year in his former capacity as executive director of PTL, said he also will refuse pension payments and other benefits for the next year. The salaries of Dortch and other PTL executives have come under fire in the last few days following disclosure that PTL founders Jim and Tammy Bakker, who have signed off in a sex and drug scandal, received nearly $1.6 million last year.
