A vacationing Canadian was killed early Saturday trying to walk across Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
The name of the 24-year-old resident of Gloucester, Ontario, was not disclosed pending notification of relatives.
The accident occurred about 2 a.m., after the man left Sasch, a popular Studio City nightclub, where he had been drinking with two friends, Officer Bill Mulvihill said.
The man had been standing in the two-way left-turn lane in the center of the boulevard near Tropical Drive, Mulvihill said, then darted into the path of a westbound ’69 Volkswagen driven by Philippe Pouzach, 22, of Sherman Oaks.
Pouzach had been driving near the speed limit of 35 m.p.h., and was not cited, the officer said.
