Fugett Puts End to Neyer’s Streak in One-Meter Diving

BATON ROUGE, La. — Kim Fugett, who finished ninth in the event in 1986 after a two-year layoff, won the women’s one-meter diving title Wednesday night in the U.S. Diving Indoor Championships.
Her victory snapped a string of seven consecutive one-meter championships by Megan Neyer, who finished second to Fugett. Fugett, 22, of Cincinnati, compiled a total score of 449.61 points, while Neyer, 24, of Ashland, Ky., had 424.98.
