Rancho Santiago Softball Coach Resigns
Jim Reach, who coached the Rancho Santiago softball team to the state title the last two seasons, Friday announced his resignation, effective at the end of this season.
Reach, 47, who is in his sixth season of coaching the softball team, has a 172-49 record. Rancho Santiago is 17-7 overall this season and is 10-2 in the Orange Empire Conference, tied for first place with Saddleback.
Reach said he plans to take some time off and travel and work on a book about working with female athletes.
“It will be the first time I’ve been able to take some time off in the summer and not have to worry about recruiting or getting players enrolled,†Reach said.
