The NCAA Presidents Commission said it intends to sponsor legislation in June to reduce the length of spring football practice for Division I schools, cut coaching staffs and reduce playing and practice seasons in several sports.
The commission met for two days in Greenbelt, Md., discussing a variety of topics but concentrating on ways to to reduce expenses in big-time college athletics as well as reduce the amount of time students must devote to sports.
