The Federal Aviation Administration said it will stop using its drug-testing laboratory in connection with aviation accidents pending a review of the laboratory’s operation. The accuracy of testing at the Civil Aeromedical Institute in Oklahoma City came into question after disclosure of possible flaws in the way tests were handled in connection with an Amtrak railroad accident near Baltimore early this year that killed 16 people. The institute handles tests for drugs and alcohol following major aviation and railroad accidents.
