A collection of 19th-Century theater memorabilia from Washington’s Ford’s Theater has been donated to the Library of Congress by the grandson of the owner of the theater at the time of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. The collection contains letters discussing the tragedy from Edwin Booth, older brother of assassin John Wilkes Booth, along with more than 400 play scripts, 125 single-page playbills, 200 flyers and 100 photographs. The library is researching the newly acquired material and will “probably� place it on display sometime soon, a spokeswoman said.
