OPERA PACIFIC PICKS MARKETING CHIEF

Pacific Symphony marketing director Luke M. Bandle has resigned to become director of marketing at Opera Pacific, effective Monday.

Bandle’s duties will include overseeing subscription and box office sales and acting as local press representative for the Irvine-based company. (John P. Finck will remain national press representative for Opera Pacific, along with its sister organizations, Detroit-based Michigan Opera Theater and the Dayton Opera Assn. in Ohio.)

Before coming to the Pacific Symphony, Bandle was manager and director of public relations for the Washington Opera in the nation’s capital; communications and marketing director for the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts in Virginia, and former general manager for the Cultural Foundation in the San Fernando Valley.

She has been with the Santa Ana-based Pacific Symphony since June, 1986.

David DiChiera, general director of Opera Pacific, described Bandle as having “great marketing instincts and skills and a very strong background in the marketing of opera.

“She knows the community and has lots of good roots here,” DiChiera said Wednesday by phone. “Her coming (to Opera Pacific) is a real bonus for us. I feel we’re now getting a terrific team together.”
