Trafton Doubles USD’s Pleasure in 6-1 Victory

Mark Trafton doubled twice to drive in three runs to lead the University of San Diego to a 6-1 victory Monday over visiting Point Loma Nazarene College.

USD (21-10-1) went ahead in the first inning on the first of Trafton’s doubles. Dan Newman drove in the winning run for the Toreros in the third inning with a solo home run. Point Loma (11-19) only managed a run on three hits off winning pitcher Dave Monastero (2-0) in his seven innings of work.
