Woo Wants Ban on ‘Mini-Malls’
Los Angeles City Councilman Michael Woo said today that he will push for a two-year building ban on “mini-malls†in his Hollywood-area district, calling the shopping centers a “blight on the community.â€
The street-corner malls, Woo said, “tend to look like parking lots with small commercial spaces attached.†He said that other council members have expressed interest in banning the malls and that he believes the matter will pass when it comes before the council.
