FIRST OFF . . .

The Oscars aren’t the only game in town. Two awards events this weekend saluted cinematographers and personal commitment to new talent, both sponsored by Eastman Kodak. Friday, at a Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel luncheon, Burt Reynolds and Steven Spielberg received the first Eastman Second Century award for their work in finding and training new young talent. Saturday evening, this year’s Oscar-nominated cinematographers were feted at the Bistro at the Outstanding Photographic Achievement awards banquet.
