Bail Set for Suspected ‘Marx Brothers’ Bandit
LAS VEGAS — Bail was set at $175,000 for Lawrence Edward Lockridge, 56, who was arrested here after a savings and loan firm holdup and who is a suspect in about a dozen bank robberies in the Los Angeles area.
Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Bill Jansen ordered the cash-only bail for Lockridge, believed to be one of the holdup men whose attire in suits, topcoats and curly wigs caused federal agents to call them the “Marx Brothers Bandits.â€
Lockridge’s brother, Roger, believed to be the other “Marx brother,†awaits trial in Los Angeles on two bank robbery charges.
