Reserve Officers Honored

Four reserve police officers have been honored for their dedication to the volunteer corps, which serves as a backup to the Police Department.

Frank Feher, 30, of Redondo Beach, received the Ron Reading Service Award as the outstanding reserve officer of 1986. Reading was a senior member of the reserve force who died in 1984.

Feher also was given a Dedication to Duty Award--an honor also received by Paul Decker, 39, of Torrance. The awards are given to the reserve officers who exceed the basic requirements of the force--putting in 10 hours a month in the field and attending a monthly meeting and firearms test.
