Shia Muslim militia chief Nabih Berri said he is optimistic about the possible release of four foreign professors, including three Americans, who were kidnaped by extremists in Lebanon. He also said that speculation over the fate of British church envoy Terry Waite--believed abducted in West Beirut on Jan. 20--has delayed his release. “I am optimistic. It will take a little time, but I’m sure we will arrive at a happy solution,†Berri told reporters in Beirut after meeting with the wives of the four professors, abducted from a West Beirut university campus Jan. 24.
