United Artists Communications appointed Allen Pinsker acting president of its theater division, which operates the largest chain of movie theaters in the country.
The company said Pinsker’s predecessor, Salah Hassanein, has decided to resign his position as the theater division’s president and CEO, and also resigned his post as executive vice president of the parent company.
Hassanein, 65, will continue to serve as consultant and a director.
Pinsker, a 19-year employee, is currently chief operating officer of the theater division.
In a statement, UA Communications said that it expects its board to formally appoint Pinsker to the division president’s job, and called Pinsker the “chosen successor†of Hassanein, who has worked for UA Communications for “over 40 years.â€
