Unraveling of Iran-Contra-White House Tangle
President Reagan claims it’s perfectly natural that he can’t remember whether he authorized arms shipments to Iran in 1985; after all, who remembers what they did on a specific date a year and a half ago. What a load of bull!
While it is true that it is difficult to remember one’s specific actions on any given date, any reasonably competent person would remember authorizing or performing illegal actions, or secret actions that go against publicly declared Administration policies.
It’s plain that the President is either lying or suffering from senility. I’m not sure which alternative is worse, as both scare me spitless.
