Prices received for farm products held steady.
The money paid farmers for raw products in February, on the average, were unchanged from a revised January index but still were 0.8% below a year ago, the Agriculture Department said. Higher prices for cattle, hogs, oranges and sweet corn were offset by lower prices for lettuce, cotton and milk, which held the preliminary February reading at the revised January average. No new figures were reported to show the trend in prices paid by farmers to meet expenses.
