WARSAW — A court sentenced a 19-year-old man to five years in prison for trying to hijack a Polish jetliner by threatening a flight attendant with a razor blade, the official news agency PAP said Friday.
It said the defendant, Dariusz Piskorek, was convicted of trying to hijack a domestic LOT Polish Airlines flight from Wroclaw to Warsaw on Aug. 28, 1986.
News reports said Piskorek was seized by security agents before he could issue demands on where he wanted the plane diverted.
