Southern Utah State Defeats USIU, 113-100
SAN DIEGO — Forward Ted Thomas scored 36 points to lead Southern Utah State to a 113-100 victory over United States International University in a nonconference men’s basketball game in Golden Hall Monday night.
Southern Utah State, an NCAA Division II team, led at halftime, 52-48, and expanded its lead to as many as 20 points in the second half. Mike Alexander added 19 points for Southern Utah State (21-6).
The Gulls (11-16) were led by Russ Heicke and Dexter McGee, who scored 21 points each. Joe Yezbak added 20 for USIU, which finishes its season Saturday at Chicago State.
