Providence, R.I.-based Textron posted record net income, up 21%, from continuing operations in 1986 due to the strength of the firm’s aerospace technology and commercial products sectors and the acquisition of Ex-Cell-O, a spokesman said. For the year, revenue was up 21%.In addition to achieving record financial results, Textron completed the integration of Avco into Textron, met its goals for debt reduction and restructuring, and in September, continued to grow profitably by acquiring Ex-Cell-O, the spokesman added.
