Everyone in Swaziland to Be Tested for AIDS

MBABANE, Swaziland — This African nation plans to screen its entire population for AIDS next month.
Health Minister Sipho Shongwe said in a statement Tuesday night that health experts from countries he did not name have been recruited to take blood samples of the nation’s 600,000 people and to check them for acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
Swaziland, a tiny enclave almost surrounded by South Africa, has reported that only two people, one of them a foreigner, have been diagnosed as having AIDS.
