11,262 Apply to Run in L.A. Marathon
Entries for the second running of the Los Angeles Marathon on March 1 have already exceeded last year’s field of 10,798, it was announced Tuesday.
Dr. William Burke, president of the Los Angeles Marathon, said that by closing time Monday night, 11,262 applications had been received.
Last year at this time, only 4,396 runners had entered the race. Runners may register until the day before the race.
The Marathon is also seeking more than 8,000 volunteers, Burke said. For more information call 1-800-452-7223.
