Continued progress in its tobacco and food and beverage businesses contributed to an 11% rise in net earnings from continuing operations and a 29% increase in consolidated net sales for 1986 for RJR Nabisco of Winston-Salem, N.C. The increases in part reflect the full-year inclusion of Nabisco Brands, which merged with R. J. Reynolds Industries in 1985. Results from continuing operations do not include Kentucky Fried Chicken Corp., which was sold Oct. 1, 1986.
