Patrick Sjoeberg of Sweden, who recently set a world indoor best of 7-10 3/4 in the high jump, won the international Golden High Jump event at Genk, Belgium, with a jump of 7-9.
Jan Zsvara of Czechoslovakia and Carlo Traenhardt of West Germany both cleared 7-8, with the Czech placing second on fewer misses. Americans Doug Nordquist and Jimmy Howard both jumped 7-7, with Nordquist placing fourth on fewer misses.
